In the tenth anniversary
of the independence of Slovenia, the Japan- Slovenia Friendship Society
was established in 2001 as the first nationwide organization of its kind.
People who have been working to build relations with Slovenia for many years
have come together as founders in order to create a venue for broader activities.
From our perspective, the concept of global standard that emerged in this
borderless era is merely an economic term and not one to impose uniform
culture on ethnic groups or nations. Needless to say, economic globalization
must be founded on mutual understanding, and mutual understanding in the
true sense requires trust and respect for each other nurtured through exchanges
in various areas and levels.
Interaction between peoples and organizations of vastly different cultures
is an opportunity to be valued. People learn to share through such encounters.
All the more there is to share, deeper will be mutual understanding. We
believe that is the only alternative for people to gain a global outlook.
Slovenian people live a happy life in a small but simple and beautiful country.
We would like to continue working with those who sympathize with the concept
of our activities and wish to promote friendship with Slovenian people. |
